Jordan’s mighty Qasr al Kharanah fortress lies on an ancient trade route where caravans would rest on their desert journey. Sidelight brought Kufic inscriptions out of the shadows.



 Incense sticks in the temple of Yonghe, Beijing
Incense

In the Yonghe Temple, located in the old heart of Beijing, devotees lit incense sticks to ask the gods for favors. Through the backlight, I watched the incense rise from the burner, on its way to the gods.



Archeological site Filitosa on Corse
Menhir

A soft drizzle diffused the light at the archaeological site of Filitosa in Corse. I was struck by the enchanting atmosphere that arose around the menhir and the 100-year-old olive tree.
